Hi, I'm at the moment testing a one2many task to push a video file to a client pc. The file is 350megs and it looks like the transfer is proceeding. The issue I am having is with the speed. On 2 separate occasions the deployment package that we created has been disabled or changed to expired without any noticed. During the first time, we had been deploying the package to IT systems and everything test out fine. A few days later, we deployed to additional machines and at some point, the newest round of machines where not showing up in the console. After digging around a bit, we noticed in the console that the Deployment Package check box for "never expire", had been unchecked. We then re-checked the box and it was working again, but we had to uninstall\reinstall the last round of machines. The package was created while we where still in Trial mode and around the time it stopped working, was when we purchased the products and increase our license count to 1000. Not sure if this could have caused the check box to be come unchecked or not, but worth mentioning. The 2nd occasion occurred last week, where we happen to be in the console and noticed that the deployment package was set to "Disabled" (I don’t recall if the check box for never expire was unchecked or not). I was able to click the enable button and test a new install. What would cause this behavior, and can we prevent it from occurring? We are expecting to deploy to about 800 machines starting next week, and we are not sure if this will reoccur in the middle of deploying, whichcould have a major impact on us and may require uninstalling\reinstalling. Is there any explanation for the changes we are seeing and what can we do to prevent this from happing? Has support seen or hear of this happening from others? Hello, We recently started to deploy the LogMeIn Central client to our internal staff systems and noticed that the MSI and batch file that we created via the deployment section of LogMeIn Central portal, is installing 2 separate programs. LogMeIn and LogMeIn Client. I think I figured out the difference between the two. - LogMeIn - is the agent (for the host machine) that has the Control Panel. - LogMeIn Client - is the app that allows to you connected to other Host agents. We are using Central for remoting in to staff systems and we prefer staff not have both of these installed, specifically the agent as staff will not have a need to remote into other systems. I was curious to why the LogMeIn Client is needed and part of the default installation? I would like to NOT install this as part of our deployment package but not sure if A - can this be done? B - should it be done? I did test uninstalling it from a few systems and it seems to have no impact of what we are using LogMeIn for. I also removed the preference setting to Allow Screen sharing as I though perhaps this client was required for this feature to function. But turning it off did not impact the deployment package and continued to install the agent. Ultimately, we would like to deploy this agent to all 900 computers in our organization and have it not install the agent (unless required), and hidden as much as possible (I did find and option to hide it from the task tray which works great).Any tips or suggestions regarding the install options and what are the best options to minimize the logmein visibility would be great? This is in relation to an issue observed with one of the features in LogMeIn : One2Many à Plans Case 1: For any One2Many plan which is planned for future deployment, a specific task is selected and the required target computers are added in the One2Many plan followed by the scheduled date and time for future run. Let’s call this Plan A. Now let’s take another One2Many plan (let’s call it Plan B) is created with some target computers which are already part of Plan A. Now, it is observed, the computers which are common in both plans, are automatically being removed from Plan A which is scheduled for a future run. Now in these situations, Plan A is again re-created by adding all the required computers. But this again result in computers automatically being removed from Plan B. However, this phenomenon is not observed all the time, but 90% of the cases are observed with this. This kills a lot of time keeping the plans up-to-date with right computers for a single execution. There are multiple LMI administrators under a single account holder who make use of this feature and creates and schedule multiple One2Many plans for future deployments. We all have to keep updating the plans multiple times before the scheduled run. Case 2: However, if multiple plans are created by adding a LogMeIn group, instead of selectively adding some computers, it never cause any issues. Question for LogMeIn: Is it true that a single computer cannot be part of multiple One2Many plans? What could be the possible reason for the above said observation? Is it something related to overlapping time while creating multiple plans that causes this? Any workaround available to overcome this issue?lags77 years agoNew Contributor2KViews0likes2CommentsLogmein Event viewer connection times do not match Central reports and I cannot bill my clients
Hello all, I did report a few months ago a recurrent problem I have with Central reports (Remote Access Sessionsreport): I do have a few reports to control how long have I been connected to client's computers/servers each month so I can bill them my remote assistance. I used to be able to do that for years. However, the reports started to give me very short connection times so I did compare them to the logme in event viewer on the computers I connnected with and found out the connections times where totally different. In many cases I was connected to them for say over 2 h which was reported fine on the local computers but on the Central report it showed, say 26 seconds... When I reported this to logmein Tech Support over the phone, they told me to send them the local logs of a few computers, screen caps of those local event viewers and matching central reports, wich I did. They told me it was a known bug and that they were working on it. I tried to temporary use the local logmein event viewer for billing but any time the computer is reboot the event viewer gets cleared and you cannot load remote connections by time or anything so it isn't a feasible temporary solution... It's been months since them and the problem still occurs. What's going on? I cannot accurately bill working hours to my clients and I'm losing money! Any foreseable solution in the short term? I would love to have the capability to create a group of computers, and be able to receive a notification, whether an e-mail or a phoe call, if any of the computers in the group will be detected by LogMeIn as down.SolvedJCAlexandres7 years agoNew Contributor2KViews0likes2CommentsConnection Alert - Initiate a login not working on all PC's
I have a group of PC's with LogMeIn Pro. 10 PC's total. When I connect to some of these PC's I get an option to initialte a login automatically, using the credentials I provided or the saved credentials. On other PC's I do not get this option. It is consistent which PC's give me this option and which ones do not. I have also checked the host preferences for all the PC's and they are all the same. All of the PC's have the same version of LogMeIn, same OS, same patch level. I would like this option on all the PC's. Can anyone help me figure this out?
