Repairing LogMeIn remotely
I recently got an error on a computer: C:\windows\system32\LMIRfsClientNP.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support. It cannot reach the Windows desktop without me clicking "OK" on the error message (although I can still connect to the computer using remote control) and the error recommends reinstalling or repairing LogMeIn. I'm helping a user who is having trouble managing her default printer with LogMeIn. She is running Windows 7 on her home computer and Windows 10 on her work computer. Her work computer is the LogMeIn host computer. When she is at work, she wants one of the office printers to be the default on her work computer. When she is at home and is connecting to her work computer via LogMeIn, she wants her redirected home printer to be the default on her work computer and then when she disconnects she wants her work default printer to switch back to the office printer it had been before she connected. If we set her redirected home printer to be the default on her work computer, then when she disconnects her work computer chooses another default printer that is not the one she wants. So when she goes into the office she has to change it back. If we set her office printer to be her default, then her home printer does not automatically become her default when she connects to her work computer. We are having an issue connecting to a macmini running LogMeIn. The MacMini is connected to an eGPU, and when the external monitor is powered on it works as expected. However if we shut off the external monitor (leaving the macmini and eGPU turned on) we can no longer connect to the machine. It does show in the logmein client as avilable, however when trying to activate a control session, it will not work. Only way to get it to work is to have an external monitor physically powered on. Hi, I recently added a additional computer to my account which seems to have messed up my original PC I started using. When I try and connect, it times out (it never used to). I can connect to the new PC instantly, which I do.. then RDP into the original one and switch logmein off and on and I can connect again isntantly. No idea whats changed. Recenly one of my clients expanded into a new space where extending the network cable drops was going to be a challenge. Given this, we setup this new area with ultra-fast wireless. I purchased a few Unifi nanoHD units and some high-end USB 3.0 adapters for the workstations in the new space. The wireless connection status shows 600+ mbps, and the usage appears to be OK while users are onsite. LogMeIN for remote access to these has been difficult since the transition, however, and there is notable latency in the look & feel since the move. They are connecting from that same remote machines using the same ISPs, so the only difference is that the target / onsite PCs are on the enhanced wireless . On a machine from 2010 running Windows 10 32-bit, LogMeIn.exe is taking about 10% of the CPU, according to Windows Task Manager. This occurs right after a boot, and persists for at least the half hour since that boot.I am making no attempt to remote control this machine. (Typo warning: I typed those messages because I don't see how to copy them electronically. But I've proof-read them, for what that is worth.) LogMeIn Control Panel is using an additionla 23% of the CPU or more! I started it from the system tray by right-clicking on the LogMeIn icon and selecting "LogMeIn Control Panel". But at least I can close that application. In addition to a long-term solution, can anyone point me to instructions on downgrading the version until this issues is addressed? Am I the only one who has tried nicely to let LogMeIn know that they are erroneously reporting and taking action on location data to block logins and even potentially lie about where logins are taking place from if emails are being audited for security for potentially legitimate reasons. Goes through all the authentication. Cant get this new Win10 to allow remote access in. I can get to another computer via LMI on the same network, but this one just hangs after the last password entry. It says Please wait and just hangs there. I've uninstalled, rebooted, and re-installed. Same result. The logmein panel shows that a session (or even 2 remote sessions) are connected, but you never get past the Please Wait on the initiating computer to gain access. Thanks Just tried the client. Help please! I'm trying to remote into my work laptop and I was able to access the host desktop before changing the host screen resolution option to duplicate display (eliminating the need to jump back and forth between host monitors). On my Windows 7 home laptop when I made this change to the host/work computer, there was never any issue. Now I'm on Windows 10 at home and the host is completely unreachable, just a black screen despite trying the solutions offered by others with similar "Black screen" posts (ie. changed logmein resolution, color, blank screen enabled/disabled). Any advice would be appreciated. If this can't be resolved, I may as well cancel my subscription and just start carting around my work laptop.... Trying to avoid that, if possible. Hi, Logmein seems to cause a problem on the HP spectre x360. When Logmein installed, the touchscreen and touch area stop working and the computer sends only a beeping sound. Hello, who can help me with this problem I keep having? When I'm using LogMeIn there are time when I get this error: "Your session has timed out or the host went offline during your connection attempt" and I'm stuck unable to get back into the system. I'm often using the remote desktop function and it will freeze and be unable to reconnect. Then I get this error. Or just out of nowhere I get this error. I am using Mac 10.14.1 Thank you. When attempting to connect to the host, it is usual to see the above message. If the mesage reads <10 minutes, it is reasonable to assume in my organisation that another user is using the host machine. If that is the case I normally try again in about 15 minutes There are occasions when I attempt to log back in ( after 15 mins) and the message now reads ' Keyboards and Mouse inactive for 16minutes'. So I assume the person using the host finished about the time I tried to connect first time. It would be great if LogMeIn connections to Mac had the ability to view if the keyboard and mouse was currently in use or not and how long since it was in use like in Windows. There is no way to tell otherwise except for some custom services/scripts. There is no reason for this not to be implemented. There is a solution on stack overflow which supports this: https://stackoverflow.com/a/2262587 You can use CGEventTap which will execute every mouse movement and can log it with NSEvent. You can even just use NSEvent and poll it manually. I have read the solutions for LogMeIn Pro crashing and I'm not sure that this is the same thing. I don't have the ability anywhere that I can see to adjust gray scale or anything else for that matter. I try to log into a remote computer - I get the message "Could not connect. It would be great if one had the ability to open folders as root when using the File Manager on Mac so when a user is in use, the user directory can still be accessed. This is in situations where there is a remote user used instead of the main user and the main user's screen isn't locked. Loging in using LMI using the standard client causes the remote PC to reboot/crash. I have narrowed the issue down to connecting from the LMI client on a PC to the remote PC with the HD color quality setting set (if I back it down, the problem does not happen to either of the other two options). The PC that crashes is running an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti video card and the latest drivers have been installed. If I login using the LMI client from my iPad, there is no issue. Only when logging in from a PC and having the default settings enabled for HD color. This is the only thing that appears to cause the remote computer to reboot. There is no overclocking on the computer. Any suggestions? my mac (host) is connected to 2 seperate networks ethernet and wi-fi , both have access to the internet through different isp's , although ethernet takes priority over most things including access to the internet i.e. logmein when i disconnect either one i can remote in but with both connected i cant? i have been remote conecting for several yrs with both connected with no issues i also have a pc at the same location on the same exact setup which i have no issues connecting to when connected to both networks so it can't be either router. does anybody else have this setup on a mac? have you ever encountered this issue? for now my work around is to leave wi-fi off and turn it on when i remote in but if i forget i can't access please helpofficial_kaos6 years agoNew Member1KViews0likes1CommentI have "LogMeIn Client". Hello, forums: I have an app on my Mac which I use to connect to my client's Windows computer. The app is called "LogMeIn Client". Which LogMeIn product does this correspond to? When I look at the list of Communities on this site, or I try to fill out a support request form at help.logmein.com, the product "LogMeIn Client" doesn't appear anywhere. Which official product name should I use for questions about "LogMeIn Client"? LogMeIn staff: you would make this forum and your support forms easier to use if you would include in your product menus the names of all clients and accessory apps you distribute, even if they aren't the names of your "products" in the sense of revenue-generating stock-keeping units. The apps and clients are what the user sees, they are the names the user knows. If you want the user to know the name of the official product, then give it to them in the client. My "LogMeIn Client" could say, in its "About LogMeIn Client" dialogue, something like: "LogMeIn Client, a part of the LogMeIn FooBar product". That would make it clear. But my app doesn't say that.
