Laptop to Tv via HDMI cable mutes internal MIC on laptop participants cant hear

Hi, when a group of my coworkers use the conference room to join a meeting or webinar they connect the laptop to a 85 inch tv via a HDMI cable.  The Video and Audio then are taken over by the TV and the internal MIC on the laptop is Muted out and cannot  be unmuted.  Is there a setting that will unmute the mic (via in gotomeeting/webinar) as the TV does not obviously have a mic built in.

    What is most likely happening is when the TV is connected the laptop is switching to using it as the audio device. In the GoToMeeting control panel you can open the audio options and make sure that the internal microphone of the laptop is selected.
