- Alex CherryNew MemberThis is pretty basic functionality. We're not a huge account, but we'll be moving on to another service that can provide it. I need to send slide shows, technical documents, and the like to those that join my meetings. Having to direct them to an additonal web page is kludgy and bad design.
- cadguy1Active ContributorHi Ash, Thanks for the reply.
That's an interesting approach, and I'm guessing it'll come in handy at times, but it's not much of a substitute for being able to share files on the fly. (Plus, I don't even have a "Beta" tab in my account, so I can't test it). Currently, to share a file, I need to add the file to my dropbox, copy the link to the new file, and then paste it into the chat box.
Being able to share a file directly would be a wonderful enhancement (and I hope that functionality gets back on the roadmap -- Glen's response to Kevin above from 3 years ago says that File Sharing was on the roadmap then, but it has apparently been removed -- I'd love to know why this was not deemed a useful feature...) - cadguy1Active ContributorLooks like this has been on the roadmap for over 3 years. Any progress? I've been a GoToMeeting subscriber for many years, and would really like this capability. We currently use DropBox, but I'd really like to be able to send a file securely using GoToMeeting. Please?
- Eric15New MemberOr have the organizer have the ability to do a cut and paste of a file to the presenter's PC.
- David301New MemberIt would seem the best solution would be to have the transfer through the GOTO session, with the person sharing having the ability to select all, or pick from the list of users. Then a link for the recipients to download the file locally. Of course in a support scenario this would usually be a one to one transfer.
- Rutu KhanzodeNew MemberHi,
This seems like a great idea. I am looking for some clarity on the file sharing scenarios mentioned above. Are you looking to share a file that is local on your machine with attendees in the meeting? Or Or is the file on a cloud storage system? And you are looking for attendees to share file with organizer in the meeting? or is it with everyone in the meeting?
Appreciate any details you can provide.
Thanks!

- Mark GorrinNew MemberMy company is moving away from GoToMeeting going to a competitive product just so that we can get this feature. We do tech support and regularly have to transmit files. The lack of this feature is losing the company money and GoToMeeting is losing money by people opting to go someplace else.
- GlennDGoTo ManagerHi Kevin, I agree, if you need enterprise level file sharing I would recommend our Sharefile.com service. In regards to GoToMeeting, file sharing is on the road map and will be added once other work with a higher priority is completed. In TeamViewer's case they were a remote support tool first, so file and file sharing is a core tool for remote support.
GoToMeeting already allows you to share keyboard and mouse control with your attendees so that you can collaborate directly in an application or file during your meeting. - Kevin JamesNew MemberGlen, the "free" services are not at all secure and would not be allowed (by network restriction) in many companies.
Many other meeting tools offer this functionality (TeamViewer for one), why not yours?
