unable to access a local camera / microphone when working remotely

Hi MKub3905, welcome to the community.

 

GoToMyPC can transmit the audio from your Host computer back to you, but for an online meeting or VoIP call, you will need to open that directly on your Home computer. Even if GoToMyPC had support to stream your webcam and mic back to the Host computer it would most likely add lag to your connection.

Seems like an arcane, if not lame excuse. Particularly in the age of FIOS 1g connections and online gaming. ( sorry, but that’s my perspective )
