Video door phones with the desktop app?

I know we are able to use a video door phone/bell to ring a Yealink T58 phone and get video and door release control.

Has anyone found a way to have this function work  with the desktop app?

Hi Ken_PittTech, nice to see you.

I don't know if this is possible, but I'm checking with the team.

I am going to say NO.

We don't have video calls station to station and I THINK that would be needed to handle door phone videos

Ken_PittTech here's what the team had to say:

        • Certainly the softphone can receive the intercom call, that's configured in the Algo controller to connect to an extension.
        • If Video is required, the softphone can't do that.
        • If audio is all that is needed, that part should work fine.
        • The second piece is the unlocking of the door. The controller receives a DTMF code (when the key(s) on the phone are pressed) that signals the opening of the lock, etc. This  User Guide contains info on setting the 8028 controller and intercom up and using it.
        • We don't have a definitive answer (haven't tested this), but that the softphone should be able to communicate the door release to the 8028 correctly.
        • A deskphone with video capabilities will be able to receive the video feed through the GTC platform without any issues, but we don't know of anyway to get that video feed onto the softphone.
