Hide GoTo system tray icon

Hi All,

Is there a way to hide the goto system tray icon at all, we have noticed that you can uninstall the agent by right clicking the system tray icon and choosing uninstall.....this can be done by any user including school children with only user level access......

Any advice appreciated.

  • Hi Morphears ,

As Glenn said we need to consider security side of blocking uninstalling a software plus it could cause trouble if you wanna delete from the computer locally. So we are not planning any blocking.

What we are planning tho' is to install the endpoint with the option to hide uninstall menu item to avoid that children or non tech-savy user accidentally remove it. The endpoint can be still uninstalled via the traditional windows way but the uninstall shortcut will disappear. We are also considering to have it as the default behavior.

So, I believe this is going to be solved.

    Thanks for your proposal.

Hi Morphears, welcome to the community.

At this time there is no way to hide the icon or block someone from uninstalling the software if they are sitting at the computer. This subject typically comes down to a security vs convenience discussion, the ability to install and then hide Resolve on someone's computer is a concern.

That would be a great way of going about it......the actual tray icon holds no other information apart from "About" so if the uninstall could just be hidden that would be great 🙂

Thanks to every one for your replies.
