Why can't Presenters join from no-download, browser-based when using Webcast?
Hi, I have issues with external presenters when using webcast. They can not download the desktop app, due to security protocol for their company. From what I have researched, they can't join ivia web if I am using webcast. Problem is, I need to use Webcast, as some of my attendees can't download the app and need to access via web. Any ideas? How can I get around this?? They joined as an attendee (webcast webinar) but I can't promote to presenter. I created a webinar yesterday, which we are planning to hold first thing Monday morning at 8 AM EDT. The link was shared out with ~800 internal employees via Outlook calendar invitation, same as we always do without issue. Usually, we'll have 10-20% of invitees register in GTW as soon as that invite goes out (the rest will register when they join the live session). However, while we have confirmed that the invitation successfully reached those people, we have had zero registrations. Additionally, a couple of employees in Bulgaria and one in the UK have reported receiving this error message every time they click the registration link (beginning yesterday morning, and continuing until today):"Please Come Back Later" - "We're having an issue with our services at the moment. Please come back later to register for this webinar." I checked the GTW outage status page, and there has been nothing reported yesterday or today. They have the green mic showing, but no sound is coming through. From troubleshooting, they only have 1 mic and audio to select. They can hear me when I talk. I feel like it's something in their security permissions blocking from using microphone with GoToWebinar. When they tried to launch webcam, it also said webcam being used in another program. I recall something similar has happened with another company - could it have to do with their security and not allowing camera, or sound to be used within the app? And when I now book new webinars, the webcam feed just show spinning symbol. I can see may camera(s) in the setting function. I'm no longer able to able to manage the mobile app version of GoToWebinar Dashboard using the new GoTo app even though your system continues to push me an alert to install the new GoTo app (which I've installed and reinstalled over 15 times) to try to get to my GoToWebinar Dashboard view. You removed it from Customers as of this week (June 17, 2024). It not only serves a mobile-friendly purpose to set up campaigns on-the-go, but also gives me a quick data view of the registration figures without having to log into the desktop version. As well, when my screen is in Presenter clean screen mode and I can't use the GTW desktop platform so that I don't disrupt the presentation, I tend to look at my mobile phone app to view in-progress, grab links, work on other campaigns, etc. Please bring back the ability to have a mobile app version. GoTo is becoming less desirable with some of these changes that you're making without thinking of the user/customer's day-to-day functions. Stop thinking like an I.T. person! Hi I recently changed my Webinars to Webcasts, as some internal staff were having issues accessing the Webinar via the Standard Event. (has to so with their tenancy external to ours and they aren't able to download GoTo....). My question is - previously, if someone registered for standard event, and they missed the session. They could use the same link in their webinar to view the recording afterwards. has something changed by using Webcast option? It was my understanding that the new GoTo app was to be universal for use with GoToMeeting and GoToWebinar. I have the new GoTo app installed on my machine. Today, when joinging a GoToWebinar, it opened the prompt to open with GoTo Opener, to which I said yes. It then indicated it was downloading GoToWebinar? I used the new version of the GoToWebinar platform for the first time today. Part of my broadcast was sharing a pre-recorded talk. I did so from the main Sharing icon at the bottom of the Organizer dashboard. Everything was working great until 20 minutes into the recording, when I chose to click on the Materials icon at the top of the Organizer dashboard to confirm that the pdfs I uploaded for attendees were there and displaying properly. The pre-recorded video was also listed among the Materials list and for reasons unknown the platform seemed to switch over to the pre-recorded video among the Materials list and started playing the video again from the beginning. Luckily in this new version of the platform you can now fast-forward a video (thank you for that!), so I quickly moved the video to the spot where we left off. After the webinar I set up some test webinars to confirm if I may have done something wrong, but the same thing continued to happen. Is this a known issue? Is this user error? Hello everyone, I recently conducted a pre-event webinar test in the New Experience with a few attendees. The problem was that these attendees were repeatedly redirected to the webinar registration page when they clicked on the meeting URL. However, after multiple attempts, they were suddenly able to join the webinar with desktop client. Has anyone else encountered this issue? How can it be resolved? Here are additional details of the scenario: Test timing: Conducted a few days before the actual event day. I don't know if I'm alone here but we have been struggling MIGHTILY with polls since the new GoToWebinar experience has come out of beta for standard events. With every webinar held, we have numerous participants who cannot answer polls at all or are only able to answer the same letter option every time. Since we offer continuing professional education, we rely heavily on polls for attendance verification. I did submit a ticket and was told I need to schedule all events as webcasts to avoid this in the future or to be sure our participants are utilizing only the desktop app. Neither of those are great solutions in my opinion. I did my webinar with a powerpoint presentation and a webcam but at the end of the session, my recording only had the powerpoint presentation and not the webcam. I spoke to GTW support and they said that it was because I saved the recording locally on my computer and not on the cloud. But that does not make sense, since I had a window pop up after webinar that asked me whether I wanted to convert my recording to MP4 and when I said yes, it converted it and put it on my local drive. Hello ! enjoying the new goto webinar experience here; however my team has said that the notification pop up for when someone arrives or leaves that pop up in the corner of the window is a distraction during the presentation. Is there a way to turn this off so that we do not see when people leave or arrive? I check the settings and did find anything that looked like it would adjust this feature ? Also in the setting when you turn off hand raise , it also removes the reactions . We would like to turn off hand-raise but still allow people to react. I offer my webinars as monthly open-enrollment training for a fee. Usually customers register and pay just for themselves to attend the training. However, sometimes a business wishes to register several persons to attend one webinar. In this case the business wants there to be only one contact person for the training (one email address entered) and process one payment for the multiple attendees. If I choose to use the Pop-out functionality before the start of a broadcast to arrange the dashboard to my liking, it reverts to the default setting once I start the broadcast and start sharing a screen. Ideally we want the recording at 30 fps, so when we edit the recording we don't have to do a fps conversion (adding frames through the process of frame interpolation to convert the recording to 30 fps). I used to receive emails when a participant submitted a registration request, and suddenly I no longer receive a notification. My company uses a third party IT and I have checked in my Outlook folders for the emails, and found nothing in my SPAM folder. I then checked in our quarantine folder (from our third party vendor), and there weren't any registration emails in that folder from registrants. Please let me know if there is something else that I can check or change to enable me to receive the registration emails again. Our university is forcing us to move from GoToWebinar (which we have been using for our weekly webinar program since 2016) to Zoom for accessibility - specifically closed captioning. This is a non-negotiable for the university and I don't blame them. But if we could give an expected time frame for when this would be available on GTW, I don't believe they would force our hands this way. Our program is so solidly cemented in GTW, our weekly webinar team is very unhappy with this situation. We've shown the university the transcripts and were told transcripts does not equal accessibility. We've shared how to use closed captioning in Powerpoint and Google but not all presenters use these platforms so the accessibility is not consistent. Which means the university does not consider the webinar program accessibilty compliant.
