Processing Time For Online Recordings?
Recorded a webinar todaythat was just over 4 hours. Online recording was enabled. How long is it, typically, before the online recording is ready? That's the one that has the webcams, and my preferred source to edit for our audience. But nearly 2 hours later...nothing. No progress indicator or other message in the Video Library. Just nothing. Trying to decide if I shoulduse my backup screen cap of the webinar to edit, or if I'm just being impatient with the online processing. Hello, I work for a state department where its required that our meetings are made available to the public. It's important that the public has access to our meetings and that they are able to ask questions or provide comments on any topic. This includes those who are seeing impaired, hearing impaired, and for those who dont speak English. For the seeing impaired, while GoToMeeting supports Screen Reading software such as NVDA, GoToWebinar does not. Those who use that software are unable to navigate your app. For the hearing impaired, GoToWebinar does not have closed captioning. Attendees have to use a third party service which are typically unreliable and only add another layer of difficulty which doesnt really enhance their ability to fully participate in meetings. For those who dont speak english, there is no captioning in their language, also GoToWebinar does not provide the option for a separate channel that interpretation can take place in the same way that Zoom has. Hi. I have 2 issues. The first is that our confirmations e-mails now contains strange charachters when we write in swedish letters, for example Å,Ä and Ö. They are replaced by a ?. This does not look very professional. The second issue is when we present live webinars and are showing our system, when we move our mouse the screen is often blinking alot. We often have presenters stream live video and audio during our broadcasts, where they may show procedures or show product demonstrations. This usually works without issue. Last night however, at about the halfway point in our 1-hr session, theWaiting to View Organizer Screen appeared and interrupted the video feed to attendees on desktop computers (the iPad used as a faux attendee for monitoring never displayed the issue). The audio continued to play and was not interrupted. Here's how we run the session: -At kick-off, the organizer runs a brief intro ppt deck with housekeeping and speaker info. -When the presenter is introduced on camera, there is no deck to share, thus we do not pass screen sharing to that person. The organizer then simply stops (not pauses) screen sharing and the presenter proceeds with their live video presentation. The entire viewer window is dedicated to the presenter's webcam. This has worked fine many times in past sessions, but last night was different. We did have a co-organizer join the session about the same time as the issue appeared, but the co-organizer didn't touch any controls, he only entered the session for Q&A. We host 2-3 webinars a week with GoTo. Over the last few weeks on each webinar there are some attendees who cannot get access because GoTo is advising their registration is cancelled when it is not. They have been approved and sent the link but the link they are receiving is broken. The only way we can rectify this at present is to have an additional staff member online checking attendee's links, cancelling the broken links and re-registering the attendee in order to issue a new link. This is becoming problematic, and I cannot get in contact with anyone from GoTo. For example here https://register.gotowebinar.com/register/2912272477448878605 Most of our customers are located in Germany and select "Germany" in the pull-down menu for "Country/Region*". Unfortunately, the field "State/Province" is not adjusted accordingly, so that you find the States of America in the pull-down menu, instead of the federal states in Germany. Some of our new colleagues/customers complain about this clumsiness and report it to us. The motto of our company is "Perfection in Protection, Licensing and Security", in my role as head of software development, I don't want such errors that such errors in GoTo Webinar registration page cause confusion to our clients and staff, who might suspect the sloppiness of our work in this error. Our old recorded webinars work fine with multiple dates. They are presented in the webinar registration form in a selection list, the users selects one date from the list and we receive a registration mail with that webinar an that date for check and release. For newer webinars that does not work any longer: the multiple dates are not presented in a selection list but plain one after another in the registration form, so that the user cannot select a date and if he nethertheless registers, we receive the registration for ALL dates. I had already contact with your 2nd level support on this issue and he confims that problem. Hint: The first tipp to select as registration type "register for individual sessions" is only displayed for LIVE webinars but not for recorded webinars. I am entering poll questions for doctors, who need to follow rigid and exact diagnostic nomenclature. I cannot paraphrase in order to satisfy software limitations. GoToWebinar will not let me set up the correct answer option. The answer text that needs to be an option choice is: KRAS c.34C>A p.Gly12Cys & KRAS c.35C>T, p.Gly12Asp The scenario demonstrates four separate issues that should be fixed in the product: 1) The error message is displayed for exactly 3 seconds and then disappears. This is a long and complex error to comprehend and I had to recreate the problem several times just to try and parse the message: "Enter answer text that doesn't include <, >, &, # or a backslash next to a number." 2) The poll as entered simply disappears. You can't go back to check it and edit the problem. You have to recreate the question and all answer choices from scratch. 3) If you go back and look at the answer choice I am entering, it does not have any of those special characters next to a number. So I don't even know what to alter! The error is not telling me the actual problem. I tried inserting spaces on either side of all brackets and ampersands, but that didn't fix it. Every special character has a letter on both sides of it. 4) This restriction is ridiculous on the face of it. It's 2022... let's accept text strings as entered by the user. use case: Running a GTWebinar session. For this particular meeting we often have folks join as regular attendees and then promote a range of them to be panelists so they can turn on cameras and contribute to the conversation. Twice now we've had folks join and we promote those we want to panelist and it works well. EXCEPT one attendee who joins this way. He clicks attendee link from our website on his iphone 14 in Safarai, this launches the GTW app which he has on his phone. He successfully joins the meeting on the GTW app as a general attendee and can be unmuted if needed. If I right click on his name i do NOT get the option to promote him to a panelist. Is this a limitation of the GTW app for someone who has joined this way? Firefox support insufficient This website confirms that Firefox does not support sound, when watched within the browser. This insufficient support is a bit surprising. Do you plan to change this? 2. I'm on a MacBook Pro (OS X 10.9.4) ...signing in as meeting organizer. Just recently when my computer is making the connection with GTW, my left computer speaker pops a couple times then goes out completely. So when I'm in the program I can only hear out of the right speaker. Others in the meeting say I sound fine so I think my mics are working. Then when I end the meeting and close out my speakers make the popping sound again and then work fine when I play any videos or music in other programs. I see there was a thread back in 2019 about problems with surveys not saving edits to the questions. That problem is still around on some computers and not others. In addition, we prefer a 1 to 5 rating system, but even though we set up the question to a 1 to 5 rating, the question always appears to users as a 1 to 10 scale. This is not a case of user error, browser cache, or a browser-specific issue, We know because we have cleared caches, tried every browser, and otherwise have been working around this issue for three years. Hi all, we want to host a live simulated webinar. It all seems to work fine, but it seems that there are only two options: 1. Once Customers view the video at the event. 2. On demand Customers view the video instantly What we would really like to do is that they watch the webinar as if it would be live and THEN remind those who didnt attend that they can watch it on demand. Consider this a complaint. I record webinars and make them available for viewing over a long period of time. The application will not allow me to require additional registration fields for access to viewing. I have a potential audience of 70000 in our organization and want to be able to categorize viewers. This would seem to be a reasonable request. Also, your search criteria is limited to one year and two would be preferred. The nature of my sessions require creation of dry run sessions to test equipment at remote locations. This rapidly fills my catalog with sessions that I should be able to delete or move out of the list of previous events. I've got multiple unique webinar events (3 Topics), each reoccuring (2 sessions each). I'm marketing all of the options to one audience and I'd like a way to promote ONE link that would provide easy visibility to all of the options vs there being no way to navigate between events for users. When I run a presentation using goto webinar, I have been told by attendees using an iphone that they only see the powerpoint OR the presenters face - they cant see both at the same time - they have to slide their phone screen along between one or the other. I plan to have a sign language person on some of my calls so need the attendees to be able to see the powerpoint AND the presenters camera at the same time. Is there a way to fix this as if I use MS Teams instead, I see the powerpoint AND the presenters camera in top left of the same screen on my iphone. Hi, I have an issue with the name of the sender in the email when someone registered for the webinar. As we have 2 registration campaigns running at the same time, one is for English and the other one is for French. Right now when the clients register the webinar they will see the sender name on the email as "The National Payroll Institute" for both campaigns, I want to change it so that in the French campaign the name will be "L'Institut national de la paie" . Hi, I am unable to get gotowebinar to work in Safari or Chrome on macos (Ventura beta22A5358e) My current issue is that on clicking the URL I get a popup 'Do you want to allow this page to open 'GoTo Opener'. Nothing happens on clicking Allow I did previously download GoToOpener, though I wasn't clear what to do with it. I copied the app into Applications & double clicked, but no UI comes up, just bouncing icon. Clicking the URL/open opener again didn't launch a meeting. There seems no web-only option to join the meeting (we with, say webex). Eventually I was able to join via mobile, but this was a disappointing experience. Hello! We have scheduled a multi-day event in GoToWebinar, as a Virtual Event, which is new to us. Eight of our 13 sessions in the Event are pre-recorded/simulated live, and the other five will be live webcasts. We have run a few test events internally to see how things work, and have run into a problem where the sessions in the Virtual Event do not work like they would if they were independent webinars. We have come up with work-arounds (below), but they are not ideal, and I'm wondering if this might be addressed before our event begins in October. Please note that the problem is worse for prerecorded/simulated live sessions. Problem - we have found that for attendees, the "Join" button for any particular session only becomes available at the time the session is slated to begin. So if our session is scheduled from 1-2pm, attendees cannot join until 1pm (or after). In live webcasts that are not part of a Virtual Event, attendees can join early as long as the organizer has started the event, and in prerecorded webinars that are not part of a Virtual Event, attendees can join early and just wait for the recording to start (which happens automatically). For a live webcast session in a Virtual Event, we have found that the organizer can start the session early, but the attendees still don't see the "Join" button until 1pm. (This is different from a live webcast, where I can start the webinar 30 minutes early and everyone can join and then I simply start the broadcast at the stated time.) In this case, if I start the broadcast at 1pm, some attendees will not have joined yet, because it takes some time to connect. My work-around is to wait to start the broadcast for a few minutes to allow attendees to join, but this cuts into the actual education time. The problem is worse for pre-recorded sessions because those will start playing the recording automatically at the same time as the Join button becomes active. This means attendees will miss the first few minutes of the recording, while they are joining. (This is different from a regular simulated live/pre-recorded webinar, where attendees can join at any time and they are in a waiting room, waiting for the presentation to begin, and it automatically begins at the stated time.) We aren't able to start a pre-recorded event early, since we have no control over those. Our workaround is to change our start time to 12:55 (five minutes before the actual start time) and add 5 minutes of pre-recorded music to the beginning of our recordings, so the recording will play and the join button will become active at 12:55, but the real content of the recording won't start until 1pm, However, this gives attendees "only" 5 minutes to join (and our attendees are used to having much longer than that to get their ducks in a row), and it requires that we edit every recording to add the initial 5 minutes onto it. I hope this makes sense - any chance a "waiting room" will be added to sessions in a Virtual Event, like happens in regular live webcasts and prerecorded webinars? Hello! Is there a way I can get a separate recording of just speakers' webcams from my webinars? We want to be able to do some cutdowns that better feature the speakers in our webinars. As in we may have them be full screen in the cutdown and then minimize them a bit when we want to show the visuals we had on the slides. The webcams on the left side aren't ideal for this scenario.
