Getting Started in the GoTo Community
Welcome to the GoTo Community! Our aim is to create a space where GoTo customers can ask questions, share tips, exchange ideas, and get solutions to all GoTo products. We're dedicated to fostering a pleasant and collaborative environment, and we're glad you’re going to join us. The following represents how our community is set up and how you can jump in and start participating. So let’s get started! Join the GoTo Community so you can post, comment and vote. To become a community member click on Register located in the top right corner of the page. Enter your email address (ideally the one associated with your GoTo product account), and create a password. Check your email for the verification email and click on the verification link it contains. Create your community username (please avoid creating a name that reflects advertising, inflammatory content, or something that could infer you are a GoTo employee). Adjust your Community Settings like your Avatar After signing into the community click on your profile in the upper right corner to review your Profile and adjust your Settings. Select My Profilefrom the menu. Click on the avatar you were assigned automatically when you registered. Click on the 3 dots to the right to select from the community avatars or Click on From My Computerto upload your own image(please avoid using crude or inflammatory content, or something that could infer you are a GoTo employee). Posting, commenting, and voting We encourage you to visit often and contribute! The best way to find answers and existing conversations is by typing your question into the search box. If someone has asked something similar, their posts will appear for you to click on. You can then join the conversation by clicking on theReply button displayed. If no results pop up, it's possible that no one in the community has asked that question yet, and you can click "Start a Topic" on the appropriate discussion board to start a new thread. Many of our product communities have a Community Ideas board where you can Kudo (vote) or comment on existing ideas. If you have a feature suggestion or improvement that has not already been posted you can add it by clicking on Suggest an Idea, but please take a moment to review our guidelines. Follow To Posts And Boards When you post to a board, you automatically follow that post and receive email notifications when someone replies. You can receive notifications whenever a post is made to a particular board by following it. On the board or post click on the bell icon to follow. To manage your subscriptions, click on your profile and select My Settings. Community Ranks Move through ranks based on your activity and the quality of your contributions. Share your best practices, tips, and technical know-how, and provide solutions and support to your fellow GoTo users, and you will be recognized as a valued community member! We encourage you to visit often, read a lot, and participate in discussions. Ask your toughest questions - chances are someone in the community has a solution or can point you in the right direction. Welcome to the GoTo Community The GoTo Community’s mission is to provide a place where members can ask and answer questions, share experiences, get updates, and share ideas on GoTo Products. Here you can learn from, support, and connect with knowledgeable GoTo staff and customers on all GoTo products. If you would like to participate, check out Getting Started in the GoTo Community to learn how to register and Community best practices. Be considerate, courteous and constructive. Your opinions are always welcome, but inflammatory or personal insults, harassment, obscene or abusive comments and hate speech are not acceptable in public or private message. Avoid excessive CAPITALIZATION and punctuation!!!! Your voice will be heard. If you see any examples of bad language or abuse, use the “Report Inappropriate Content” link on the post to flag it for moderation. Respect instructions from a moderator or administrator. Communications between Moderators, Administrators and users are logged and we will track repeat breaches of policy. Stay on-topic. If you are contributing to an existing thread, ensure that you do not stray off-topic, and that your post is relevant to the thread. Avoid Crossposting (posting the same content in multiple posts or threads). Crossposting can result in one or more of your posts being removed. Protect your privacy and the privacy of others. Never give personal information. Do not provide email/snail mail addresses, IP addresses or phone numbers. Use common sense and good judgment when interacting with others through posts or comments, especially sharing any personal contact details. Spam will be removed. Advertising, Promotion for a product, service or site for financial gain, or anything that seems to be posted by a bot or is otherwise posted in an automated fashion or any form of solicitation will be removed. Contribute. Your discussions and contributions are what makes the Community useful and helpful to others, and your ideas help enhance GoTo products and your experience, so please participate fully to get the most out of the Community. When you have an answer to your issue, let us know and post the answer in the original thread, or mark the answer as an accepted solution. Not only does this tie up the thread, but it also adds to the collective knowledge in the community when posts are marked as accepted solutions. Here are some simple guidelines that will help all of us get the most out of Community Ideas: Search the Community Ideas that have already been submitted.Your Idea may have already been submitted and need your vote. One Idea at a time.Each idea should be specific and self-contained so it can be voted on by the community. Lists of ideas submitted in a single post will be declined. Ideas should be detailed and easy to understand.When someone reads your Idea they need to easily understand what it is you are suggesting and how it would be a benefit (even if you think it is obvious). Also, please include details on how you see your Idea being implemented. Vote.Kudo Ideas that you agree with. Ideas that have no votes will eventually be archived due to a lack of community interest.
