Some users lose keyboard control, also lost on remote pc
I have an issue where we connect to a remote PC using cellular data. Once in awhile, when the remote PC locks up, the remote user will lose keyboard control, and the keyboard also goes dead at the remote end. They call me and I get them to close their session, I log in and am able to unlock the screen, and keyboard control is back for the remote. I got the users to check their keyboard under options, and theirs is like mine, set to use logmein legacy mapping. This particular PC was set to lock up after a time out or remote used losing connection, so I disabled those hoping the lockouts go away, but I am still puzzled by the remote used loses keyboard controlGlen_S3 years agoActive Contributor996Views0likes1CommentPerformance when zooming
Hi, I am troubleshooting Logmein Pro when working from home using graphics, such as AutoCAD and Revit. Both the local machine (client) and local machine (host) have no issues when zooming and panning, but when working from home, AutoCAD in particular is very juttery when zooming in and out. To try to explain it better, if zooming is usually smooth, it may display 20 frames, when using Logmein it is more like 4 frame. This makes working remotely pretty frustrating. It sometimes takes half a second to resolve as well. I know it doesn't sound like much and it doesn't stop me working, but it really does slow me down as I oftend end up zooming into the wrong area on a drawing. Can anyone help ? I have dual monitors, HD graphic quality, Blank screen turned on (tried turning off too). Thanks.DarrenP3 years agoNew Member526Views0likes0CommentsSame username for windows and Logmein

Logmein has been great EXCEPT for issues with Screen Blanking. After a long delay this issue was resolved. But after windows update to version 21H2, the issue started again. Although when I launch Logmein on a remote computer it shows Blanking as checked, the remote computer's screens are not blanked. If I uncheck the box for blanking and then check it again, the remote screen flashes black and then displays again and the check box unchecks. I have spent hours going through all that I could find - uninstalling, reinstalling logmein, uninstalling/reinstalling video drivers, disabling/enabling video drivers, etc. I believe that there is a compatibility issue again with the latest windows 10 release. Anyone else having similar issues? Find a work around? Logmein support any suggestions, can you identify whether a bug or not? This is a serious security issue essentially rending Logmein unusable. Windows 10 - 64bit I have been using Logmein for many years from my home office into my main office workstation and it has always worked. Just this week all of the sudden I get this error. The machine shows on-line I click it and it says "Please wait while a connection is established" It establishes and then asks me for the ID and PW to connect (which is at my office) As soon as I put it in, I get "Disconnected, Your connection to the remote computer has been lost" repeat over and over and over. I have had to connect via AnyDesk which doesn't provide the options as my logmein. Can you please assist? I've tried disabling AVAST and nothing... I've disabled SSL Scanning from Avast, nothing.. My logmein worked fine until Wednesday 11/24/21.glaroche3 years agoNew Contributor1.4KViews0likes3CommentsiOS mouse compatibility

I have a user that isn't very technical. They're working from home and using LogMeIn to remote into their office machine. Multiple times a day, they move or hit something that takes their LogMeIn session out of fullscreen mode. From what I've found, I don't think there's any kind of configuration or registry setting to accomplish this or something similar, but was hoping someone else may have come across a way.jasonduke3 years agoNew Contributor892Views0likes1CommentSafari browser keeps downloading client installer
Hello, I am trying to setup an application called Remote Desktop Manager which is application configured to use Logmein desktop shortcuts for a few workstations. While these shortcuts will work for users running Windows, when I try to do the same on a Mac workstation, the Safari browser keeps trying to download the Logmein Client installer despite having this already installed and the shortcuts do not work as expected. I have checked the usual security settings to allow the Logmein Client application and also copied this over to the Applications folder yet this issue still seems to persist, am I missing something else or is there knowledge base documentation that covers how to set this up on a Mac?gregdenis3 years agoNew Contributor1.2KViews0likes2CommentsMacOS - Remove "Switch off" button for Logmein

I don't know what version client I was on previously. My Host has two monitors. My Client has three. It would be really nice to use all three. The previous version would show three monitors when I turned screen blanking on. I understand that was a bug, but it was a nice bug as it allowed me to be more productive. Today the Client prompted for an update, and after doing so, now turning on screen blanking removes a monitor, so now I only have one. Hitting Options on the toolbar does not show the Monitors button - I can't choose Mutli-Monitor. When I turn screen blanking off, it is back and I am able to turn Mutli-Montor back on.trflmiuser3 years agoActive Contributor1.3KViews0likes6Commentsremote sound from MAC Mini running Monterey...
I am connecting a PC running LogMeIn Client to a MAC mini host. I don't seem to be able to have the sound transferred from the host MAC to my PC. Anytime, I click on the speaker or try to adjust the volume, it just goes back to turning itself off. Does anyone else have this working successfully. Is this a supported feature when using LogMeIn with a MAC mini (running Monterey). I don't see any other accessibility settings or privacy / security settings on the MAC that would deal with this remote sound issue.jbisko3 years agoNew Member554Views0likes1CommentHigh CPU usage macOS 12.0.1

I use my laptop to work on a number of Microsoft Word documents located on my home desktop. Lately, every so often and without my doing anything unusual, typing characters into the Word document suddenly makes a random Word or Microsoft pop-up window pop up and I cannot type any characters. Clicking anything will make the pop-up window go away, but it comes right back the moment I type a character. This ONLY happens when I'm using Word on the home desktop through LogMeIn on my laptop. It does not happen on any other home desktop programs, and it never happens when I'm at home typing in Word directly to the desktop. It's rarely the same pop-up window that pops up and stops my typing. Sometimes it's the Windows Explorer window, sometimes it's a menu window for Word, sometimes something else. Another variation is that sometimes my typing will work fine unless I type a CERTAIN character. (Yesterday, I got a pop-up window every time I typed the letter L.) As this problem never happens when I'm working on the desktop directly, but only when accessing it through LogMeIn, it seems clear it is a LogMeIn issue. Is there a solution?jumblejim3 years agoNew Contributor3.3KViews0likes10CommentsInventory report shows multiple of each system

Hi, Is LogMeIn Pro suitable for use if the host machines (the machines to be accessed remotely) are all on a private subnet? In this case, the machines sit behind a cable modem and router. The modem has a public-facing IP address, but the potential host machines have addresses in a private subnet range (for example, 192.xxx.xxx.xxx) assigned dynamically by the router. All of the potential host machines can access the internet (for web browsing for example using https). Is this sufficient for LogMeIn to work properly? I haven't found this addressed specifically in the LogMeIn Pro manual, other community posts, or knowledgebase articles. Apologies if I didn't find it. Thanks, NormWSolvedNormW3 years agoActive Contributor1.1KViews0likes2CommentsAuto Restart Host Service via Windows Scheduler
Hi, I have a situation where two of my clients periodically drop off. Sometimes, this is caused by a user running software that kills the LogMeIn host process. I would like a simple way to proactively address this by periodically scheduling the Windows Scheduler to run the host service. (This is LogMeIn Pro) There was a topic similar to my question at the link below. I’m not a coder, so I’m looking for a solution that I can add to scheduler along with any command switches, as applicable. I don’t want to duplicate processes, just to run it so if it’s not active, it will be activated. The client service is not installed on these hosts. So I can sign into LMI on my work desktop and on my work laptop. I have only used LMI once before. This was during the initial setup/first try to verify functionality. I was able to login to my desktop remotely from my laptop. This past weekend, however, I was trying to work from home. I started the LMI application on my laptop, started a remote session, and successfully connected to my desktop at work. When I entered in the Windows login information (which the username and password were correct. I verified on my desktop today), the application said that my login information was incorrect. I am writing this from my desktop at work. I do know my username and password because I use it to sign in at work. I also tried a remote session today from my laptop to my desktop (my laptop was right next to my desktop) and the app still said my login information was incorrect. I then tried from my phone to login in and do a remote session and I got the same error. Does anybody have any advice? I have tried changing my settings on the desktop and nothing is working.
