Connecting to destination PC

For our company GoToMyPC Corporate version, there is 2-Step Verification feature ( using LastPass Authenticator app ), this feature can be globally enabled for every company users in GoToMyPC administrator control panel, but for some reason, we can not forcedly set this feature for every GoToMyPC users, we leave the option for each users to decide if they want to use 2-Step Verification feature and enable it from the user self account, but this causes a security concern for the users who do not use 2-Step Verification; we would like that GoToMyPC has a feature: if GoToMyPC user DOES NOT ENABLE 2-Step Verification, THEN every time when the user logins GoToMyPC account, send an alert email to the user, so in casesomeone else ( like hacker )tries to login this user GoToMyPC account to access the user computer when user self does not login but receive the login email, this user may be aware that the hacker has known the user name and password, so user may take the action; it seemsamazon and some online Bank have this feature ( send alert email for the login activity with IP location, login time, even has browser type ).steve2412 months agoNew Contributor228Views1like3CommentsScreen Capture Request for GoToMyPC

I wanted to share some feedback regarding the viewer on the Mac system: Setup: Host: Windows PC Viever: MacBook Pro 14' (Sonoma) with an external monitor (16:9 aspect ratio, which is the same with the host pc monitor) Problems: 1.When entering full-screen mode on the build in screen of the MacBook , the top bar does not hide automatically, which obstructs part of the screen. This might due to the notch of the MacBook. Whenentering full-screen mode on the external screen (without notch), the top bar can hide automatically without issue. 2.When in full-screen mode on one desktop, switching to another desktop and click causes the viewer to exit full-screen mode automatically. For example, when I put the viewer on the external screen and in full-screen mode, if I click on the build-in screen, the viewer on the external screen will exit full-screen mode.Felix_x3 months agoNew Member222Views1like1CommentDual monitor does not work. I'm not really sure how to describe this exactly. One of my users has been reporting issues with getting a 'black screen' when she connects to Gotomypc- about once a week. What appears to mostly happen is that she tries to log into Gotomypc for the second or third time on a given day and is able to log in with the password, then click the computer button, then give her access code. After typing in her access code, the Gotomypc viewer remains small and shows only black, and then hangs for an extended period rather than expanding to full size and allowing a Windows login. Usually it disconnects after several minutes. Further attempts at connecting get the same result. The affected machine is on, and is responsive to the network. We can ping it. Remotely restarting the Gotomypc service does not work- that is to say, we can remotely restart the service via the Windows Services app, but it does not affect the ability to connect to the machine. Windows Remote Desktop from another computer on the same network works just fine, and has usually been how we've dealt with the issue- someone will RDP into her computer and remotely restart it. It then allows gotomypc connections once the computer comes back up. Yesterday the user was connected to her desktop via Gotomypc from a computer in the conference room of the same office. When she ended her gotomypc session and walked back to her desk, the machine's screen was blank and remained that way regardless of what she tried to do with keyboard or mouse. She tried another Gotomypc connection from a different computer; she got the black screen issue. Eventually she was given RDP access to her computer, and that allowed her to log in via desktop as well. How do we find out what is locking up as a result of Gotomypc connections? The issue has been occurring for several weeks now, about once a week. The machine does not get rebooted unless there is an urgent pending Windows update or unless this problem happens and she cannot log in any other way. Machine is running Windows 10. Gotomypc software version is23.05.3746. No other user is experiencing this issue. Thanks.SolvedJ.15 months agoContributor1.3KViews0likes7CommentsTeams notifications don't appear when using Gotomypc

Basic Qs
Been using and liking GTMP for a while - my company gave it to me so that my office PC is a host, and I can see it from home using the GTMP client app. Very nice. Just discovered the syncing files feature. Some basic questions: At home, does the GTMP client app have to be running for the sync feature to work? Or does sync work all the time in the background? (The office PC host has GTMP running all the time, but not so at home.) If your answer is "No", then let's say I set up GTMP to sync an office PC folder with a home PC folder, and I make different changes in both while (for many days) I don't use GTMP from home to see the office PC. Then, after some weeks, I turn on GTMP at home to see my office PC. At that point, do the two folders sync automatically, or am I prompted to start the sync? Does the sync automatically work in both directions, or only in one direction? Does the sync take a long time? Will I see status? What happens if I turn off the home GTMP in the middle of a file sync? How does GTMP sync handle conflicts? (For example, each PC has the same file but they have different Modified By dates and sizes and other metadata.) What happens if I had deleted a file on one of the PCs but left it on the other? Does GTMP "know" that I had deleted it on the first PC and so then deletes it on the second? Or does GTMP just copy the file from the second PC to the first? What if the folder on my home PC is in my OneDrive? Does that make things go bonkers in an inter-dimensional, time-traveling, sci-fi kind of way? Suppose I have two folders that have existed for some time, so each has its own grab bag of files and sub-folders, and now I sync them together for the first time. Will the sync work so that, after the sync, each folder has the total of what had been in both folders, or is using existing folders risky and stuff might get lost? What other questions should I be asking? Thanks.glnzglnz8 months agoActive Contributor660Views0likes5CommentsPC keyboard to Mac running GTMP to a PC - issues
When I run GTMP on my MacBook Pro (client) to connect to my office PC running Win10Pro with Office 2016 (host), it's quite hard to use the MacBook Pro keyboard to do things on my office PC or in its Word 2016. I am badly hampered by the lack of a "full" keyboard (with number pad on the right) on the MacBook, and the usual keyboard shortcuts just don't work. I am a big and very fast user of keyboard shortcuts, especially in Word and Outlook. So I have connected a standard wired Dell "full" keyboard to my MacBook Pro (with a small dongle to connect the keyboard's USB plug to the MacBook's Thunderbird socket), on first connection the MacBook asked me some questions about the keyboard, and now it's all working MUCH better!! I am typing this with that Dell keyboard on the MacBook Pro connected via GTMP to my office PC which is now connected to this forum via its Firefox browser. HOWEVER - a few tiny glitches so far: On the Dell keyboard, CTRL + right or left arrow does NOT move the cursor on the remote PC forward or back a word. Either nothing happens or the entire display on my MacBook Pro moves left or right to shows me the Mac desktop (and will move back to the GTMP display if I hit the other arrow). HOWEVER, Ctrl+Shift+left or right arrow on the Dell keyboard DOES move the remote cursor forward or back a word but with selecting the entire move (as it should). The GTMP display on the MacBook updates slowly with notable lags (while the display on the remote PC updates normally fast). CAPS LOCK works but Num Lock (for the number pad) is always on and does not toggle (but that's OK because I ALWAYS have Num Lock on anyway). Any ideas about those issues? Also, while the full normal Dell keyboard is doing a great job for me, and it's not heavy, it's also not what we think of as "portable". What would be a portable version of this very standard full keyboard WITH A SIMILAR STANDARD LAYOUT FOR ITS KEYS? (If you've ever seen the movie "Brazil", you'll appreciate my setup.) Azure MFA with phishing resistant authentication
We are struggling to get Azure MFA set up. We purchased the license that permits that. That is the only reason we bought that license. We use phishing resistant MFA such as FIDO key and Windows Hello. Microsoft has been releasing conditional access rules for "require phishing resistant MFA for admins" and those rules will be set up for all at the end of Dec. All our admins only have FIDO keys - no passwords, We have set SSO up with Adobe, AutoDesk, Trimble, AFI.AI and another ERP I will not name. But, GoTo does not work. The messages we get are Sorry, but we’re having trouble signing you in. AADSTS75011: Authentication method 'X509, MultiFactor' by which the user authenticated with the service doesn't match requested authentication method 'Password, ProtectedTransport'. Contact the GoToMyPC application owner. Or AADSTS75011: Authentication method 'MultiFactor, Fido' by which the user authenticated with the service doesn't match requested authentication method 'Password, ProtectedTransport'. Contact the GoToMyPC application owner This implies that 1. GoTo is not really supporting all of Azure's authentication. and 2. GoTo probably is not using phishing-resistant MFA internally in their own org. Adversary in the middle attacks are what 99% of phishing attacks are these days, so we need to protect ourselves, especially the admin accounts, using phishing resistant MFA. I have tried explaining this to support and I get "we support Azure MFA" as an answer. It probably should be "we support phishing-susceptible MFA but not phishing-resistant Azure MFA."irp10 months agoNew Contributor1.3KViews0likes5CommentsConnection issue logging from a Mac to a PC.

Whatever the tech did to our account is not helpful and has severely disrupted our business flow and user experience.SolvedJ.12 years agoContributor1.2KViews0likes3CommentsMultiple screens with virtual monitor in host PC
My host PC has one monitor, but I have two in the client PC. Is it possible to simulate multiple screens in GoToMyPc with that configutation by creating a virtual monitor in the host PC? The host PC is using Windows 10 Pro.VictorLopez2 years agoNew Member929Views0likes1CommentUsage Reports
Hi, I'm considering using this product and have some questions about the reporting feature. On the Admin Console, what types of Usage reports are available? I'd appreciate if you reply in detail as possible as you can. And, please let me know if there are any documents that describe the details. Thanks,SolvedChatworks92 years agoNew Contributor872Views0likes2CommentsGTMP viewer not good on Mac Ventura June 2023
Just got a used 2019 MacBook Pro from my wife, and I want to use it to connect to (see) my work PC via GoToMyPC, which is already installed with a license on my work PC. To clarify, I am using my MacBook Pro to see and control my office PC. First, I continue to have difficulty even putting a shortcut icon for the GTMP viewer on my MacBook Pro desktop. GTMP is not even in the Apple Apps Store. Maybe the way to do this is first to use Safari to go to GTMP, make a good connection to my office PC, and then find something on the Safari web page for GTMP to put an icon on my Mac desktop? Is that the right way? What exactly should go onto my MacBook Pro desktop? Second, when the GTMP viewer is running, it won't Quit. I always have to Force Quit it. Third, I can't get a connection unless the WiFi connection for the MacBook is pretty fast at that moment. If it's a bit slow, like 50 Mbps or less, the viewer will start but not actually display anywhere on the MacBook. Fourth, GTMP seems not to provide any Help or instructions anywhere for running the viewer on a Mac. Fifth, since I'm using a Mac keyboard to control a PC, how do the keys map for PC shortcuts? For example, what should I type on my MacBook Pro to be the equivalent of the PC's CTRL+S (for save) or the PC's ALT+Tab (to cycle through the PC's running apps) or the PC's Win+P (to change the PC's display from Extend to Single Screen)?glnzglnz2 years agoActive Contributor2.1KViews0likes10CommentsLog in not asking for New Access Code

Please tye to re-connect to "<there computer"> If I login as a different domain user on there computer then it will login so am presuming it is problem connected to that user, they did set it so the access code wasn't asked for originally, how do we change it so that it asks for the new access code.
