What's New?
Cloud Recording Support for Co-Organizers
- Co-organizers can now record a meeting to the cloud! Previously, co-organizers could only record locally and were sent a copy of a local recording. Now, co-organizers have access to the following recording-related features:
- Ability to start and pause recording during a session
- Recording controls in the Control Panel
- New tooltip when hovering over the Recording icon
- Notes:
- The online recording will only be available in the scheduling organizer's Meeting History.
- Local recordings will only be sent if online recording fails.
Screen Sharing Improvements Now Included in Recordings
- In G2MWT v8.29.1, b8953, we introduced improvements to screen sharing performance, including quicker switches between presentation slides and higher frame rate for videos (i.e., users will experience smoother videos). For users to previously experience the new improvements, the meeting could not be recorded. Now, the meeting can be recorded (locally or to the cloud) and users will notice improvements both in session and in the recording.
- Notes:
- All participants must be joined from either the Windows or Mac desktop app. Upcoming releases will support this feature for the Web App and mobile apps.
- Users may notice reduced sharpness and quality during motions (slide flips, videos, etc.) but the image will return to normal quality after content is changed.
Platform Upgrade to v2017.4.2
- Upgrades have been made to the desktop platform, which provides overall improvements and bug fixes including:
- Bandwidth improvements
- GDPR privacy fix
Voice Audio Engine Upgrade (v1.19.2) and Video Engine Upgrade (v2.12.2)
- The integrated Voice Audio Engine (used to connect session participants to the audio conference) and Video Engine have have been updated with the newest version. These new engines will provide overall improvements to the audio conference and video quality during sessions.
Bug Fixes & Minor Changes:
Fix for Inconsistent Audio State
- Previously, when users switched between Computer audio (mic and speakers) and Phone call, the Mic icon showed inconsistency. Now, the audio state will stay consistent while switching between audio modes.
