Mac users, we now support macOS Catalina (10.15)! To share your screen during meetings, make sure you allow screen recording permission when prompted. Read on to learn more.
Highlights:
- Support for macOS Catalina (10.15)
- Improvements to New GoToMeeting (limited beta)
- Changes to "Join Muted" preferences
- New "skip camera preview" setting (New GoToMeeting)
- Fix for inability to join meetings
- Fix for Mac users unable to go back to the old GoToMeeting experience
- Additional fixes and minor changes
Rollout plan:
- This build was deployed to customers starting Oct. 8 and ends Oct. 14, 2019.
What's New?
Support for macOS Catalina (10.15)
- Users running macOS Catalina (10.15) can now download and install the GoToMeeting desktop app to start and join meetings! Users running the new OS will be prompted to allow screen recording when they share a screen or take a screenshot in GoToMeeting. If users choose Deny and wish to give permission at a later time, they can go into their computer's Security & Privacy preference pane to enable access and restart the GoToMeeting app for the permission to take effect.
- System requirements now include:
- Windows 7 to Windows 10
- Mac OS X 10.9 (Mavericks) to macOS Catalina (10.15)
Improvements to New GoToMeeting (Limited Beta)
- Improvements have been made to the New GoToMeeting desktop app! Improvements include:
- Support for German, Spanish, French, Italian, and Chinese.
- New "skip camera preview" setting.
- Ability to change camera feed layout when viewing a shared screen.
- New onboarding help flow for first time users.
Changes to "Join Muted" Preferences
- Users can no longer choose to join unmuted in their Preferences. For security purposes, users will now join session muted. Learn more here.
New "Skip Camera Preview" Setting (New GoToMeeting)
- Users can now choose to skip the camera preview when joining a meeting. If this setting is disabled, users will join with their cameras off.
- Open Preferences.
- Click Meetings in the left menu.
- Check the "Skip camera preview when joining a meeting" box.
Bug Fixes & Minor Changes:
Fix for Inability to Join Meeting
- Previously, the Preview screen was intermittently truncated and users couldn't join. Now, users will see the OK, I'm ready button that allows them to join the session.
Additional bug fixes & minor changes:
- Viewer and Control Panel icons now follow accessibility color standards (New GoToMeeting)
- Cosmetic and font updates to Preview screen
- Improvements to the screen sharing toolbar (New GoToMeeting)
- Webcam layout fixes
- In the Preview screen, "Call Me" will now say "We'll Call Your Phone" (New GoToMeeting)
- When users switch from VoIP (computer audio) to Call Me, the audio connection will not disconnect until the call is answered
- Fix for the Mac app intermittently crashing at the end of the session (New GoToMeeting)
- Fix for users unable to join a VoIP-only meeting when no or only one audio device was connected (New GoToMeeting)
- Fix for users intermittently joining unmuted even if they chose to join muted in the Preview window (New GoToMeeting)
- Fix for multiple GoToMeeting apps in the system tray
- Fix for Mac users unable to go back to the old GoToMeeting experience
- Fix for the app hanging when users chose to skip the Preview window and joined the same meeting again
- Fix for the app crashing when Windows users had minimized their Control Panel to the Grab Tab and pressed ALT + Tab while sharing their screen
- Fix for intermittently missing thumbnails in the Screen Sharing window on macOS 10.15 (Catalina)
- Fix for the preferred language set in the Preview window not displaying in in-session windows
